Será el serrín (Short Film)- Colorist
Production Company: Escarlata Estudios
Achievements: Award-winning Short Film (e.g., Festival Cortos Ciudad de Alcobendas 2024).
My Role: Colorist.
The Narrative and Chromatic Challenge: The short film explores grief, denial, and the "coldness" following a death. My objective as Colorist was to use grading (Etalonaje) to visually translate the profound emotional weight and the protagonist's psychological state to the screen.
Workflow and Aesthetic Solution: I executed the color grading process in DaVinci Resolve to establish a cool, subtly desaturated, and restrained palette. This deliberate chromatic choice was implemented to reflect the feeling of emptiness, denial, and the "banality" of the environment, creating a visual atmosphere that powerfully enhances the drama and Marta's inability to express her pain. This project demonstrates my ability to apply advanced cinematic techniques to serve the psychological narrative.
Oximoron (Fashion Film)- Colorist
Donde la tierra descansa (Short Film)- Colorist
My Role: Colorist.
The Narrative and Chromatic Challenge: The main goal of the color grading was to capture the atmosphere of decline, disillusionment, and the dreamlike farewell surrounding the territory of El Bierzo. The color was essential to reflect the work's calm and introspective tone, elevating the landscape to a symbolic character.
Workflow and Aesthetic Solution: I worked in DaVinci Resolve to establish a melancholic and contemplative look. I implemented a color palette that honors the dignity of the land, using earthy tones and soft contrasts to infuse a sense of artistic nostalgia. This project highlights my ability to apply advanced color techniques to auteur cinema, creating atmospheres that reinforce the emotional connection to the territory.
Ghosting (Short Film)- Colorist
Recognition: Award-winning Short Film (Notodo Film Fest 2024).
My Role: Colorist.
The Narrative and Chromatic Challenge: The main goal was to use the grading process to reflect the protagonist's atmosphere of solitude, anxiety, and reflection, emphasizing the "unexpected loss" and the intimate, experimental nature of the piece. The color had to isolate the person, visually translating her thoughts on broken human connections.
Workflow and Aesthetic Solution: I worked in DaVinci Resolve to establish an introspective and psychological look. The color palette focused on subtle contrasts and tones that isolate the character in her living room (her space of reflection), utilizing shadows and light control to accentuate the drama and the feeling of absence. This project demonstrates my mastery of color for auteur cinema and deep psychological narrative.
Solo jóvenes (short Film)- Colorist
My Role: Colorist.
The Narrative and Chromatic Challenge: The main goal of the grading was to honor the film's concept: a "close, authentic, and natural" portrait of everyday youth problems. The color grade had to avoid melodrama, maintaining visual honesty that subtly amplified the emotional tension of the crossed feelings (unrequited love, pregnancy, new relationships) without grandstanding.
Workflow and Aesthetic Solution: I worked in DaVinci Resolve to establish a Look based on naturalistic realism. I adjusted the palette to feel authentic to the daily environment, focusing on managing interior lighting and skin textures to ensure the drama felt intimate and unfiltered. This project demonstrates my ability to use color as a tool for psychological amplification within a framework of authenticity and realism.
